In time for Valentines

I thought with Valentines just a few days away, I would re-post this....

valentines-1

We know, Valentines Day is supposed to be a day to declare your love. It is also the holiday that sells the most greeting cards with the exception of Christmas. Valentines is also a holiday where gifts of flower and chocolates or other candy are given to that someone special. For me personally, Valentines means giving something back to my special someone, and what better way to do that, than by making a nice, romantic dinner at home.

Knowing what that someone’s favourite dish is helps, but if you don’t, or are not sure, or you're just looking for something new to make, the following are a few suggestions that worked for me over the years.

One of my husband’s favourite’s has been the Veal or Chicken Wiener Schnitzel. It is fairly easy to make and delicious. You can serve it with with rice or potatoes and your favourite garnish.

Another favourite that I am used to making is lamb. Made in many different ways, one recipe is Roasted  Rack of Lamb served over a rice pilaf  or Parsley Potatoes .

When it comes to desserts, anything with chocolate is considered,  fabulous. For an easy dessert, try Custard and chocolate Crepes.
