Pumpkin Spice Latte
It's fall and it's pumpkin time! I love the scents of pumpkin spices and what better time than fall to use them in baking and in coffee too. There is something so soothing and wonderfully warm and cozy sipping a cup of hot pumpkin spice latte by the fire and enjoying a quiet moment to yourself.
If you like pumpkin spices you'll love this coffee.
Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe
INGREDIENTS
Pumpkin spice:
1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
2 tsp ground ginger
3/4 tsp ground nutmeg
3/4 tsp ground cloves
Latte:
1 double expresso ( or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee)
1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
1 tbsp. pumpkin puree
1 tsp palm sugar ( or other sugar)
1 cup 2% milk or whole milk
Sweetened whipped cream (or can of whipped cream)
DIRECTIONS
For the pumpkin spice, add all the grind spices in a bowl, and mix to combine.
In a mug whisk together the expresso, pumpkin spice, pumpkin puree, and white sugar until smooth and the sugar has dissolved. ( I don't like it very sweet, so add more sugar if you need).
Next, steam milk in milk frother or with an small electric whisk and pour over coffee.
Place a dollop of freshly whipped cream on top. (You can also use a piping bag fitted with a large star tip to dispense cream onto your latte.
Dust with a little bit of extra pumpkin spice and enjoy
Makes: 1 mug
NOTE: For the pumpkin spices, I mix a double quantity and keep it in a closed jar so I have it ready when I need it.
