This dish is a breeze to make.
In this quick and easy recipe, butter and toasted sesame enhance the delicate flavour of asparagus for a great side dish.
Ingredients:
1 lb. (454 gr.) asparagus
1-1/2 tbsp. toasted sesame seeds
2 tbsp. butter (or Vegan margarine)
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper, optional
Directions:
Snap off and discard tough ends from asparagus. To do this, take one piece of asparagus and bend it where the white part transitions to green until snaps.
Wash and place asparagus into a large sized saucepan. Add enough water so that all asparagus are immersed in water.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat slightly and simmer until asparagus are tender, about 5-6 minutes.
Meanwhile melt butter in a small saucepan; add toasted sesame seeds; stir to mix.
Drain asparagus and using a slotted spoon transfer to a serving dish.
Drizzle with the sesame butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Serve while still warm.
Makes: 4-6 servings (side dish)
Bon Appetite!
