Kale Chips

My daughter is an amazing cook and likes to try new recipes. This is just one of the latest things she was raving me about so I had to try it.

I have to admit, I'm hooked on kale chips now. They are not only completely delicious (that’s important thing, right?) but also healthy and what better way to get dark leafy greens into your diet then snacking on this crispy kale bites. Kale is loaded with vitamins and minerals and other beneficial properties. So, there you have it; a healthy snack that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Did I mention, they are  easy to make? That’s right. Go ahead, give it a try.

1 bunch of Kale
1-1/2 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
Sea salt, or other seasoning of your choice*

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Wash kale bunch and tear the leaves from the thick stems into bite-size pieces. Place them in a salad spinner and give it a few good spins to remove the water.

Place them on the lined cookie sheet.

Drizzle kale bites with the olive oil and toss around to distribute.

Spread kale out into a single layer; sprinkle with sea salt.

Bake for 8-10 minutes or until colour of leaves deepens (a dark  green) and they become  crispy.

Cool and enjoy!
* Try other seasoning like, garlic salt or smoked paprika.

Happy Snacking ! :- )
