Transylvanian Meat Balls

You might agree with me that no party menu is complete without meat balls. This ones, make great appetizers. They are easy to make, no fuss meat balls.

  appet-meat balls
1 1/2 lb. (680 gr.) lean ground beef
3 slices of whole wheat bread
4-5 garlic cloves, finely chopped
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. savoury
1 tbsp. parsley greens, minced
1 tsp. vegeta seasoning
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
Oil, for frying
Place bread slices in a bowl and cover with water until soaked through.

Drain and squeeze out water; place it on a cutting board and chop it fine.

Place ground beef in a large mixing bowl. Add the chopped  bread, garlic, eggs, pepper, paprika, savoury, parsley, vegeta seasoning, salt and pepper. Mix with a wooden spoon (or by hand) until well mixed.

Form them into walnut size round balls.

Place about 1/4” oil in a frying pan and fry meat balls until brown, turning them once. Drain on paper towel.

To serve them, arrange a platter or plate with green and red leaves; place meat balls on top of leaves; insert   colorful toothpicks randomly.
Makes: 40-45 balls
