Cheddar Dill Sticks

This savoury sticks are great with a bowl of soup,  or just enjoyed on their own. I like to munch on them while I'm drinking my cup of tea. I love the combination of dill and cheese!

2 cups flour
1/2 cup margarine
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. dill weed
1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
Place flour into a medium size bowl. Cut margarine into the flour with a pastry cutter until resembles large crumbs.

Mix in salt and dill weed. Add baking powder, cream of tartar and buttermilk and mix in the cheddar cheese. Form into a ball and let stand for 10 minutes.

Place dough on a floured surface and roll dough out into a 5 x 16 inch rectangular. Cut into 1/2 inch strips. Place on a ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350F for 15 to 20 minutes or until top is light brown.
Remove to a rack to cool.

Makes: 16 sticks
